“In my dream,
Everything’s so perfect.
All the fairies and the dresses,
Everything you always wanted,
But there’s always a price.
For the happiness in world.
You can live in your own story,
But you’ll always know that,
that is just a dream.”
A song written by a ten-year-old girl, one she sang to herself for a long time. Every now and then, I find myself thinking about those words.
You can live in a fairy tale, but the reality is that everything comes at a price.
Have we really reached a point where we have to pay for everything in life?
This is one of the fundamental reasons I created the MBH platform. Even as a young girl just beginning to discover the world, I was aware that everything had a price. Today, twenty years later, as someone actively involved in health and disease prevention, I still refuse to accept that everything has to be paid for.
Healthy food should not be a luxury.
Good sleep should not feel like a privilege.
And reliable information about your own health should not be something you can access only if you have enough money, enough time, or enough luck to reach the right healthcare professional quickly.
The idea for MBH was born after years of working in a community pharmacy. Through that work, I had the opportunity to speak with thousands of people. They were looking for answers to hundreds of questions they either had no one to ask or were afraid to ask. For years, I watched people nod when I asked whether they understood how to take their medication. Then, when I asked them to repeat what they had understood, I would realize that I needed to explain it again. Out of all those experiences came the idea of trying to give people answers to those questions and make professional guidance more accessible to everyone who needs it.
Of course, I also have to earn a living. I wish I did not have to, but the reality is that money still plays a major role in our lives. Even so, the foundation of MBH today is that, through thousands of carefully covered topics, everyone has the chance to find answers to the questions and concerns that matter to them.
I have always tried to give my patients answers to the questions they asked. I know it is impossible to have an answer to every single question. But I have always believed that if I do not know the answer myself, I should at least know who can help. That is my goal here as well.
Over the years in the pharmacy, I learned that people very often are not looking for a complicated answer. Sometimes they simply want someone to calmly explain what they have just read, whether certain things can be used together, or who they should turn to next.
For seven years, I grew into my role as a pharmacist through my daily work in the pharmacy. Now I am starting again, in a new way - as a pharmacist who will help guide you toward what you need most.
Month by month, we can grow together through this large online community, open to everyone who needs support.
Thank you for being here.
